How It Began
Sheroo's story began with family, creativity, and a love for the Royal Bengal Tiger.
At 14, one of Sheroo's founders won an international essay competition titled “What Animal I Would Save, Why & How.” He chose the Royal Bengal Tiger—and the prize took him on a safari to Kenya, beginning a lifelong connection to wildlife, tigers, and storytelling.
That journey eventually carried him to Hollywood, where he spent more than a decade as a CG Supervisor, with credits on major studio films including Spider-Man 2. After helping bring larger-than-life characters to the screen, he and his sister, entrepreneur, turned that creativity toward something much more personal.
Another part of Sheroo's story had begun years earlier between a mother and her young son.
When her son, Karl, was little, she recorded lullabies and nursery rhymes for him so he could listen to his mother's voice. Years later, while the family was developing Sheroo, Karl reminded his mother of those childhood recordings—and came up with the idea of putting a recordable soundbox inside Sheroo.
That idea became Sheroo's 60-second voice recorder, allowing a parent, grandparent, or other loved one to record their own voice—a lullaby, a story, words of encouragement, or simply “I love you”—for a child to play whenever they want to hear someone they love.
Together, the family created Sheroo the Brave Little Tiger™—a companion made not for the screen, but for real life: bedtime, daycare, the first day of school, travel, hospital stays, a frightening waiting room, or simply those moments when someone a child loves cannot be physically there.
And so Sheroo became more than a little tiger. He became a way to carry something deeply familiar wherever a child may go:
